“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
Albert Einstein

At only 16 km distance from the Farm you can find the beautiful Alfero waterfall.
Its beauty comes from both the waterfall height (32 m) and the cool water pool that it generates. Here you will be able to spend a summer day without feeling the sultry weather typical of the coast.
The river of the waterfall is called Alferello and it is rich in trouts. Along its course the river hollows out the marl-sandstone formation which is typical in this area and that is characterized by sandstone layers (resistant to erosion) alternated with layers of marl (more friable).
Before the water falls, the Alferello runs over a 2,30-meter-high piece of limestone that is hard and compact, more resistant to erosion than the lower part and this is what creates the waterfall.
After the waterfall, the river flows straight for approximately 10 meters, then it goes down through a series of beautiful giant’s kettles; the deepest one is called by local people “il pozzo” (“the well”).
The route to the waterfall is well marked and it is easy to reach by walk from the Alfero city center in around 20 – 25 minutes.
In order to get there you just need to leave the town and follow the street to Mazzi, then you will find a well-marked trail that leads you to the river. We recommend to wear hiking shoes.

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful day of relax, we suggest you to go during weekdays, because in the weekend you may come across a lot of people who had your same idea. 😉
